The National Board of Examinations and Inspection of Schools has announced a guideline that students are to follow while going back to school from Monday to Wednesday.
Students that are to begin the second semester consists of those in nursery students, primary level as well those in secondary and TVET’s I to level 5.
In correspondence with the Prime Minister’s Office statement of preventing the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic by keeping social distancing, NESA has issued a timeline for students who will leave Kigali to upcountry and within the capital that students are obliged to abide with to avoid overcrowding.
As of tomorrow students studying in the districts of Huye, Gisagara, Musanze, Nyamasheke, Rusizi and Gatsibo and Nyagatare will leave, yet on Monday those studying in the districts of Nyamagabe, Nyaruguru, Rulindo, Gakenke, Karongi, Rutsiro, Rwamagana, Kayonza will also leave Kigali.
NESA also issued that on Tuesday, students studying in districts of Nyanza, Kamonyi, Rulindo, Gakenke, Karongi, Rutsiro, Rwamagana and Kayonza will leave.
On Wednesday, those of Nyarugenge, Kicukiro, Gasabao in the city of Kigali as well as Ngororero, Burera and Bugesera are supposed to leave.
The NESA administration however, urges parents to adhere to the schedule for their children depending so they reach school early.
“Parents are required to adhere to the travel schedule as soon as possible and send their children early to 9 AM to get to school early,” the statement said.
The vehicles are required not to drive students at night. Each parent is reminded to give the child a travel allowance that will take them to school and a refund for the end of the second semester.
In a statement, NESA said that in order to facilitate travel, students who are leaving Kigali and other provinces will take off from Nyamirambo Stadium.
